2014 Blogging Update

I rarely write personal blog articles anymore, so when I went to publish a recent posting I was reminded that I am using a blogging platform (Squarespace) with way more power (and cost) than I really need. I like Squarespace a lot, but it is becoming increasingly complex as more and more features are added. In addition, the templates were all more than I needed, and I didn’t want to spend a lot of time tweaking them and learning their platform. So, it was time to move…

One of the first decisions I had to make was whether or not to even maintain the blog - after all, it is out of date and probably reflects more poorly on me than just obliterating it. However, I decided to keep maintaining (and perhaps even modestly adding to it) for the following reasons:

No semi-technical blog is complete with a description of how the blog was produced, so here goes:
